Samsung Galaxy S26: Delays and Rebranding Rumors
The development process of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series seems to be facing some challenges, with recent rumors suggesting that the launch may be delayed and the naming scheme could be revised. According to sources, the base model in the series might not be called the Galaxy S26 Pro as previously thought, but instead, it will stick to the traditional S series naming scheme and be called the Samsung Galaxy S26.
This change in naming scheme could be due to the fact that giving a base model phone the Pro moniker might not be the most effective strategy, especially when compared to Apple’s iPhone series. The Galaxy S26 will likely follow the usual standard, Plus, and Ultra models, but the Edge variant might not make an appearance this time around.
A Longer Wait for the Galaxy S26 Series
Another rumor suggests that the launch of the Galaxy S26 series might be delayed until March, which is later than the usual January or early February launch window. This delay could be due to the changes in the naming scheme and the possible cancellation of the Edge variant. The last time Samsung delayed the launch of its S series phones was with the Galaxy S23, which was released in early February.

While the delay might not be ideal for Samsung, it’s better to ensure that the phones are ready for launch rather than rushing them to market. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is reportedly still on schedule for a January launch, so it’s possible that it might arrive earlier than the other models in the series.
