The product works on both battery and USB, but I recommend you to connect with USB for the best performance and the lights are more powerful when you connect with the USB but still works good with double a batteries. It is not like in the picture .. the bulbs are very very small not like in the pictures at all and one the light is on it is shaking .. moreover in the picture you see that the trunk of the tree is gold but the one delivered was silver and the light is not warm yellow as in the picture but white. I would not recommend.

As other’s have said, it does look at bit “home made crafts” in the day, but the light it creates at night is really lovely and the branches are easy to move. Great price – I love mine and will probably get a few more.
